Gerald, an actor and producer hailing from Oxford, England, will be performing his captivating rendition of this timeless holiday classic.

During his energetic one-man show, Dickens brings A Christmas Carol to life. He leaps, he sobs, he laughs…as he entertains…depicting 26 characters of the classic tale, with just a table, wing chair, and hat rack accompanying him on stage. He has created different postures and voices for each character, achieving this so adeptly that the audience has no doubt about “who is who”, so to speak. Says Bob Byers, President of Byers’ Choice Ltd., “It’s a wonderful show--a great family tradition--the best way I know of to kick off the holiday season”.

Comment from 2009:

I brought my niece and nephew 8yr and 10yr old to the December 3rd reading of, A Christmas Carol. I like to expose them to the arts when I can. They have never seen any movie of this title and when I realized there were no costume changes, no other actors, and no set changes, I thought to myself they are never going to sit through this. Surprise to me to this day they have not stopped talking about it. They wanted to see the new movie and didn't think it was as good as that day. I taped a CNN story on Mr. Dickens and my 8yr old nephew shusshed everyone in the room so he can hang on to every word Mr. Dickens said. I hope you have a repeat performance next year.

Thanks! Maureen G.
